Berners are a large/giant breed working dog originally from Switzerland. They were used for pulling carts, herding cattle, tracking, watchdog and of course they make great family companions. They are affectionate gentle giants who love to please. They are intelligent and learn quickly. Loyal to their family and don't tend to stray they stay close to home close to their family. They do have a soft personality and can have their feelings hurt if dealt with too harshly.
